 “CALIFORNIA SCENERY. Seal Rocks – Point Lobos”
A beautiful and dramatic night scene of the California coast fully illuminated by moonlight. It shows the rolling hills, step headlands, rocky coastline and craggy islands of Point Lobos, San Francisco. The building at the top of the hill is the historic Cliff House. This section of the coast is populated by seals, sea lions, sea otters, migrating gray whales and thousands of seabirds. At the time of this depiction, whaling ships would have been plying the waters.
